Account is used to classify all financial transactions according to type of accounting entry.  The university has identified a shared list of Budget Accounts, Expense Accounts and Revenue Accounts to be used by the UKANS and KURES business units. 

The Expense and Revenue Accounts have been defined by the State of Kansas' policy and procedure manual. The University has defined additional Accounts by identifying specific expenses or receipts but the University can not combine many state values into one University Account.
