Using WebNow (KUWebNow)

 

Launching WebNow and Logging In

Once you have received your KUWebNow user name and password, you can access documents via the web.
Request for access to KUWebNow (user ids and initial passwords) should be directed to Jennifer Hanson (jjhanson@ku.edu).  User IDs and passwords are the same as your KU Online ID and password.  Information for resetting your KU Online ID is found on line at https://www.aims.ku.edu/password/

  1. Open an internet browser. Type in https://kuwebnow.ku.edu . Press Enter.
  2. As your WebNow home page launches, the Logon dialog box will display:

  4. Enter your user name in the User Name field.
  5. Enter your password in the Password field.
  6. Click Connect to initiate the connection to the WebNow Server. If the login is successful, the WebNow search page will display.

  1. Complete the items needed for your search.

  1. First select the applet that contains your documents
    1. The selection of the Applet will change the values in the “Find documents where” field as well as the headings on the grid

  1. Then select the Find Documents where which is used to narrow the search to a drawer or linking value associated with the image
  2. Finally complete the GTE (>=) field which stands for Greater Than or Equal to.  Type in the name of a drawer or the linking value of a document, depending on what was chosen in step B above.

WebNow Search Grid

The Search grid will display your search results.

  1. When searching for a document the value typed in the GTE field can be a portion of the search value.  For example, when looking for Voucher 00700000, the GTE field can be completed with 0070.  The system will find and return values greater than or equal to the partial search value.  The search grid will return any value that begins with 0070 in a sequential order.
  2. If the system does not return the desired output, review the GTE value. 
  3. If the GTE value is the correct choice, it may be the image does not exist.
  4. The Search grid will not display if no results were found.  A message of “No Records Found” will be displayed.

WebNow PowerView

The Document Viewer displays documents opened from the WebNow Search grid.  Double-click on the selected image to see the document in the PowerView mode.

Change grid options

  1. In the Search grid, click Grid Options 11.
  2. In the Grid Options dialog box, click the General tab, and then select the check boxes for the columns you want to display in the search grid.
  3. Click OK.

 

Logging Out of WebNow

Choose the Disconnect icon (upper right-hand corner) to log out of WebNow.

Note: Simply closing the browser window will not log you out of WebNow; you will stay connected and be unable to log in to WebNow from another computer.
